By Angelo | Related entries in In Game NewsCavalier Anderson Varejao has been subbing for starting center Zydrunas Ilgauskas the past few games and he’s been doing well especially during the recent Cavs game against the Toronto Raptors, With 16 seconds left and the Cavs down, Varejao dunked in a miss by Alexandar Pavlovic and won the game for the team at 86-85.
“That was definitely the play of the game. I had the best dunk until Andy decided to do that,” James said with a smile.
“It was a game-winner. He timed it just right,” James said.
It’s nice to see players step up to the occasion when the team is down and other players are struggling. It’s especially more exciting to see the role players instead of the stars show that they too can be depended on when the game is on the line. As you can know, that game could have easily gone the Raptors’ way with the score so close but Varejao did not quit even at the end of the game.

That was a pretty impressive put back. Like the guys said though, a foul would have been better. The Raptors still had a little time left though.
