Detroit Pistons favored over Boston Celtics
NBA Obsessed takes you into the hit and run game of NBA Basketball.
Has the world gone bonkers?
The Pistons are listed as the favorites for the Boston Celtic / Detroit Piston series starting tonight.
What happened to all those Celtic victories during the regular season, the most on the NBA? Doesn’t that give them home court advantage? Didn’t Boston just defeat a fired up LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers at home in Boston? Don’t the big three, the Boston Three Party of Ray Allen, Paul Pierce, and Kevin Garnett, play for the Celtics? Isn’t Kevin Garnett the defensive player of the year and also an unstoppable offensive force? Didn’t Paul Pierce just hang 41 up on the Cavaliers?
Detroit has looked so so through the playoffs. What gives?
Now please understand there are few bigger Piston fans than your intrepid author, but my contention has always been that the Pistons are best suited to win the finals, but may have a hard time getting past Boston to get there. Now the Pistons have been made favorites?
It is the home game thing right? Boston can’t win a road game, so they can’t be the favorites? Hello, they don’t have to win any road games if they win all their home games. Ok, ok, nobody has ever done that before, but there is always a first time.
6 out of 10 ESPN analysts have picked the Pistons and all of them picked them in 6 games.
