KG To Boston Trade Talks Resurface
The Boston Celtics could potentially be a huge force in the East once again with the veteran trio force of Paul Pierce, Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett. After a bunch of losing seasons, I’m sure Celtics fans would love to see not only an exciting dynamic trio but more importantly higher numbers in the win column of the season standings. The idea may very well become reality very soon since trade talks between the two teams have resurfaced and may be close to a deal.
According to sources, the current deal on the table has the 6-foot-11 Garnett heading to Boston and the Celtics dealing away Al Jefferson, Theo Ratliff’s hefty expiring contract and Rajon Rondo. There may also be other players and draft picks involved.
For the Celtics, this deal not only gets them superstar KG but also gets rid Theo Ratliff’s huge contract. For the T-Wolves, they get a young rising star in Al Jefferson and a smart talented play maker in Rajon Rondo. The important thing is that KG is liking the idea of playing in Boston since he has Pierce and Allen as team mates now. The reason the first attempt to get him failed was that KG didn’t like it so he nixed it. The reason why it’s important that KG is starting to like the idea of playing in Boston is that he will be a free agent after this coming season. If he didn’t want to be there then he’d definitely get his ass out of there as soon as the season ends and the Celtics would have traded away Jefferson just for that one year. It’s definitely not worth it.
Paul Pierce wanted some veteran help. He already got Ray Allen and if KG comes over that’s definitely prayers answered. There still are a bunch of talented young guys who could help the team such as Gerald Green, Tony Allen, Kendrick Perkins, Ryan Gomes and rookie Glen Davis. The three stars will definitely be great mentors for all these young guys.
