Kobe, but no Gasol, face the Rockets
NBA Obsessed takes you into the hit and run game of NBA Basketball.
Kobe Bryant takes aim at the Houston Rockets and Tracy McGrady
In a dream winning streak by an inspired team, the detractors will speak loudly again.
The Rockets are playing no one.
Recently they faced the Dallas Mavericks while Dirk Nowitzki sat out the game with a suspension.
Now they face the Lakers without Andrew Bynum and Pau Gasol.
Gasol injured his left ankle during Friday’s first quarter in New Orleans. An MRI taken Saturday in Houston revealed a moderate sprain. He will be re-evaluated in a few days to determine a more definitive timetable for his return.
The Lakers, who also still are awaiting the return of injured center Andrew Bynum, likely will start Ronny Turiaf in Gasol’s place. source
How lucky can you get?
Well, evidently pretty lucky and you still have to win them.
Kobe would love to tag the Rockets with a loss, before the Rockets upcoming tough games.
The Rockets have won 21 consecutive games, the second-most in league history, but start their toughest stretch of the season Sunday. After the Boston Celtics visit Tuesday, Houston takes to the road to face the New Orleans Hornets, Golden State Warriors and Phoenix Suns.
Bryant credited the Rockets for their winning streak but said it “means nothing to me.” McGrady isn’t so sure.
“I know Kobe,” McGrady said. “I know that’s where his head is. In his head he’s thinking, ‘If it’s going to end, it’s going to end with me.’ He’s a fierce competitor. That’s just who he is.”
This will be the 3:30 EDT game on ABC. It follows the 1:00 Detroit Pistons Chauncey Billups vs. Chris Paul of the New Orleans Hornets game also on ABC.

Why are you so negative towards the Rockets. The Rockets haven’t had Yao for 10 games or so,and he just so happened to be our leading scorer, but the oppenents they(we) face still can’t capitalize on Yao not being here. The Rockets go out to play like everyone else, and have been doing very well. So what Dallas didn,t have Dirk ,and Lakers aren’t gonna have Bynum or Gasol. We don’t have Yao ,so to me the 21 oppenents we have played against and defeated , including NO(who we beat twice already once with out Yao Mar 8 106-96), GS, DEN, CLE, had a better chance , but folded under the defense the Rockets have applied. Then to top it off theyv’e been playing real good team ball. With Rafer Alston stepping up, as well as Deke being all that he can beblocking shots, and getting a few points, rebounds. What more do you Rockets haters want from them. Even EX rockets players are against them? Kenny , Charles whats up wheres your colors at both of ya’ll got a ring in Houston.Anyways, I don’t think anybody should talk till they get 21 in arow also. a true Rockets fan Jessie R.

Ouch, your comments sting.
Uhh, Charles never got a ring ever.
Will try not to be so Rocket negative. But your team went from all Yao with trying to fit in McGrady to no Yao and suddenly unbeatable.
No one denies the accomplishment. We are just waiting to see how they fare against the best teams at full strength. The games when Yao would have been needed.
Geez, was Yao insignifigant? Don’t think so.
